The Proctor High School Boys and Girls Track and Field teams had a strong showing at the Section 3 Class AA Championships on May 28, with several Raiders turning in standout performances across a variety of events.
On the boys team, Nyjeme Radcliff led the team with a first-place finish in the 400m, clocking in at 49.87--the second fastest time recorded at Proctor this century. He also placed third in the 100m dash with a time of 11.56. Ian Grove placed 4th in the 3000m steeplechase, Micah Jasper took 4th in the 400m, and Derrick Walton secured 4th in the pentathlon with 1,979 points. The 4x100 relay team of Wunna Tun, Danny Cuadrado, Dariel De La Rosa, and Keygan Newman finished 5th, and the same group placed 4th in the 4x400 relay.
The girls team also had an impressive showing, finishing 4th overall out of eight schools. Amie Valentine earned 2nd in the 400m and 5th in the 200m. Jazmine Brown placed 1st in shot put, while NyAshia Linen swept all three of her wheelchair events--winning the 100m, shot put, and discus. Chennia Locke finished 3rd in the 100m hurdles, and Kamari Davis placed 5th in both the 400m hurdles and high jump. Raiyah Patterson earned 2nd in the triple jump. Relay teams also placed across the board, including 4th in the 4x100, 5th in the 4x800, and 6th in the 4x400. Additional scorers included Ku Htee (5th, pole vault), Aisling Warren (6th, high jump), Gabrielle VanDusen (6th, discus), and Iyonna Pemberton (6th, long jump).
Several athletes will move on to compete at the State Qualifiers Meet on June 5 at CNS.
